Pedasa was one of eight Lelegian settlements on the Bodrum (Halikarnassos) Peninsula, situated in the Gökçeler area above Konacık village, spread across hillsides amid pine forests and scrubland. Since 2008, excavations led by Prof. Dr. Adnan Diler have revealed a walled acropolis, the Temple of Athena, the open-air sacred sanctuary of Altar Hill, and necropolises with various types of graves. The Temple of Athena is considered one of the peninsula's oldest known temples. The city is thought to date back to around 2000 BCE. Thanks to its natural landscape, the area is ideal for trekking and nature walks, though reaching the ruins requires hiking.
