Mumcular Dam is a dam built on the Kocadere River between 1986 and 1989 for irrigation and drinking water purposes. At normal water level, it holds approximately 19 hm³ in volume with a lake surface area of 1.42 km², with roughly half of the water obtained directed to meet Bodrum's drinking water needs. The lake area offers a tranquil picnic ground suitable for walking and nature observation. During dry periods, when water levels drop, news reports have documented the emergence of the old Bodrum-Izmir road that lies beneath the lake.
